Imagine a magical notebook that everyone in class has a copy of. If you write "I gave Sam an apple" in your notebook, it magically appears in everyone else's notebook too.

No one can erase it or change it, because everyone else would see it. That is a blockchain. It is a shared list of records that everyone trusts because everyone has a copy.
